Different types of Sliver require different Sliver Handling Systems

What is the importance of SLIVER in Yarn Production

Sliver is the basic raw material of yarn. Yarn is made from sliver only. Yarn properties are as inherited from sliver properties. More the imperfections in sliver, more imperfections are going to be inherited in yarn. The studies conducted by Ahmedabad’s Authoritative Textile Institute has confirmed that a 3cm of imperfections in Sliver will be 3 meters of imperfection in yarn. That is the proportion. Given this, it is highly imperative for a quality conscious spinner to choose the right Sliver Handling System, which optimises the Yarn output and quality.

Effect of Sliver Handling on Quality of Sliver and Yarn

There are different types of yarn to be processed short staple and long staple like Combed, Carded, synthetic and Viscose. Their filaments and properties differ from each other. For retaining their maximum original parameters they require different types of sliver handling systems. If not it can cause lot of imperfections, increase neps and hairiness in the sliver which in turn is passed on to the Yarn. Rimtex has developed customised cans for better retention of parameters for all types of slivers. These range of Sliver Cans Optimises Production, by reducing doffing cycle and Optimises profits by delivering better quality yarn.

Carding Cans

Carding is one of the most important operations in the spinning process as it directly determines the final features of the yarn.  The content of neps and husks in the resulting sliver happens at this stage. At this stage lap is converted into a sliver and the important objective of retaining sliver qualities falls on the Sliver Can.

Breaker Draw Frame Sliver Cans

At this stage Carded Sliver is stretched/straightened and converted into a single sliver. Blending of fibre also takes place at this stage. While the process is going on, the Sliver cans have to handle the sliver and ensure its smooth movement. Rimtex range of Breaker Draw Frame Sliver Cans are specially made to achieve optimum results.

Comber Cans

An important step to ensure uniformity, removal of neps and other imperfections from the sliver is Combing.  The entire range of Sliver Cans from Rimtex ensures that the amount of sliver wastage is reduced and spinner gets better yarn and better returns.

Finisher Draw Frame Sliver Cans

The Sliver properties that pass through this stage are completely irreversible and remain reinforced into the final Yarn output. Cans play an important role is handling sliver through this complex and sensitive manufacturing process. Rimtex has a special range for this stage of yarn making.

Sliver Cans for Roving

This is first stage where twist is inserted for making a yarn in spinning mill.  Through the complex process of Roving, the sliver received from Draw Frame is converted into Bobbin. Improper handling of Sliver at this stage can cause issues in twisting and winding resulting in imperfect package building.  Rimtex customised cans for Roving further enhances spinners efforts of best quality yarn production.

The entire range of Rimtex Sliver Cans adapt optimally with all the prevalent sliver machinery systems; be it Rieter, Trutzschler, LMW, Marzoli and others.
